Dayana is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She received her Master of Science in Nursing from St Thomas University, Florida. After graduating she worked as RN in a stroke unit for 4 years, during this time she closely experienced the disconnection between medical and mental treatment, the rationale behind her choice to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
She is devoted to providing comprehensive, empathic and high-quality mental health care. Dayana has developed through the years clinical abilities that are complemented by her ability to connect with patients and their families. She adheres to recommendations based on science, including clinical expertise, firsthand observation, and intuition.
She believes that a patient-centered, whole-person approach to healthcare is best achieved via multidisciplinary education and interprofessional teamwork. She speaks English and Spanish. During free time she loves spending quality time with her family, going to soccer’s games and embarking on road trips with her kids.
